We stayed two nights. At the end of the first day, when we returned after 10pm we found the room as we left it in the morning; wet towels, trash in the cans, coffee bags, bed not done. I called reception, they apologized and told me I should have requested the reception that I wanted the room to be serviced. I asked them if they have this policy written anywhere, they told me the staff had the obligation to inform me at check in, which they did not. The following morning when I checked out I complained to the staff and they told me it was my obligation to know that all hotels worldwide work with that policy now. So, it was my fault. Poor service for a Marriott.
