Fall retreat.
Old school Ski Lodge. No elevator. Rooms are only what is needed. Shower has to warm up for awhile. Staff were great! Pool and Hot tub were nice! Beds are comfortable.

Tucked away in the woods, this hotel would be a quiet respite away from the world. We only stayed one night, as we were on our way somewhere else, but I wish we could have stayed much longer. We stayed during late summer, so I bet the place is bustling during the winter/skiing season. But my stay was blissfully quiet and safe.

This hotel is just average. The staff were friendly- but the restaurant was closed for dinner, forcing us to drive for several iles to get something to eat. And their breakfast was a joke. $10 for food that my husband said was worse than military food. Staff were friendly. Maybe it's better on a weekend.

Ask for a main floor stay if possible!
The biggest issue is we were staying on the upper floor, but there is not an elevator or valet service for our bags! Other than that the stay was pleasant.

I love how chill everything was and how quite it was, the staff was fabulous. Rooms were basic but served its purpose. The pool was warm and beautiful.

The beds were comfortable. The water in the shower takes ten minutes to heat up so be patient. We didn’t get a room with a balcony so the room only had one small 30” x 30” window that did not open. The electricity was out for about 4 hours so we sat outside by the pool for an hour. Couldn’t turn on air conditioner so it would have been nice to be able to open the window. The furniture is a bit beat up. And there was no breakfast. Bar and restaurant was closed. Staff was nice and friendly. Free coffee in lobby but not in room. This is a no frills motel. And you would think management would have compensated their customers with something. We had to all go back to our rooms in the dark and make our way in the room with the light on our cell phones. No one told us the reason for electricity to shut off because there was no bad weather.

Debra, Thank you for staying with us and for leaving your feedback. We apologize about the power outage, and that the cause of the outage was not effectively communicated to you. A tree fell on a power line that feeds our resort due to the high winds that evening. The power was out for just under 3 hours. The front desk was offering full refunds for those deciding to leave and were giving out complimentary bottles of water, gatorades, snacks and candles for those deciding to stay. We are glad that you enjoyed the beds as we replaced all of our mattresses, box springs and bed frames in the last two years. Updating the furniture is scheduled for late this summer/early fall. This will be a nice and unique upgrade to the rooms as they will be constructed in house with a ski lodge feel to them. We hope you can come join us in the future to see the upgrades.

We were pleasantly surprised with the resort. The room was clean, bathroom nice and bed was comfortable. There was no brekfast and no elevator, but we only stayed overnight. The staff was very friendly.

Pool temperature was so cold that my kids will not go in it… It’s supposed to be 80/85°. Spoke to the staff and they said they would have someone check it out. I come back a couple hours later and they said they checked it and it was 80°. No way possible. Checked it with my meat thermometer and it was 70°/69°. I spoke with the manager and she insisted that the temperature was 80° that the maintenance person checked it and I told her there’s no way possible can you please check it again I want to see it and she told me no. And told me there’s nothing she can do..

Excellent location to ski, just few minutes from Cadillac Mi. You can walk to the ski area It has it's own restaurant inside if the hotel. They give you a locker for your ski equipment which is great. Staff is super friendly.

I WAS AMAZED WITH THE STAFF UPON MY ARRIVAL AND WITH MY TOUR OF THE GOLF CORSE.UNTIL THE FOLLOWING AM I WAS BEING DISAPLINED BY AN OLDER MEMBER OF THE STAFF LIKE A CHILD. I ASKED THE STAFF IF IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH ME OR HER IN A JOKING WAY AND THEN I INQUIRED ABOUT BECOMING A MEMBER OF THE GOLF CORSE. THEY CALLED ME THE NEXT DAY AND TOLD ME THEY WOULD BE DECLINING MY MEMBERSHIP WHICH I HAD NOT YET APPLIED FOR.

Extra hidden charge and rude hostess.
The hotel charged us extra fee, which was hidden on their final bill, plus the lady at the front desk was very rude when we asked for an extra 10 minutes to pack because of our sleeping baby. She could not to give us an extra 10 minutes to stay until 10:10 AM instead of 10:00 AM! Really bad experience in otherwise what could be a great hotel.

You are warned there’s no elevator but NOT that the stairways are narrow, steps are STEEP and treads a narrow. My husband has 2 “after-market” knees and typically does not mind stairs, these were daunting.

Solid Three Stars. Decent value
No frills ski lodge. It was clean and comfortable. No service desk after 9 pm, but they left our key on the counter in envelope so it was ok but felt odd since there was no security either. No elevator and had narrow steep stairs. Young people in hall way and outside talking till middle of the night who were not super loud but didn't have the courtesy to go in their rooms and no one to call to ask them to do so. Overall not terrible but would have been better with an attendant or security person.

Disappointing
Save your money, stay somewhere else, unless your local I don't think this property wants you there. Pictures online make this look a lot newer and nicer than it is - wasn't dirty, but not quite the "ski resort lodge" I was kind of picturing. You receive multiple emails warning you about no elevator, and all of the "rules" in place including not being loud, especially in hallways, but while we were there that's all that was happening because there was an "event" - so I guess that's ok? Put the keys on the desk when checking out and announced we were, lady at her desk, without looking up, said "ok".

Staff was great! Super helpful with dining options. The restaurant on the property was booked for a wedding but they were ready with other options. Would recommend staying here.

There was mold in the shower and when staying over night the bathtub nor sink was even wiped out this was the bathroom in room 19

Thank you Alyison for the feedback. We take our cleanliness and hospitality very seriously. The corner of the shower is discolored grout. Our Maintenance team has been made aware and is addressing this issue today. The photo from behind the commode shows a rusty pipe collar, and has been replaced. The access board had raw wood visible and has now been painted. We apologize for this instance and thank you again for bringing it to our attention.
