I havent been to this hotel in a while as it is often booked up well in advance but had the opportunity to stay there again for a couple of nights. And was delighted to see they have spent time and money on giving it a revamp in the rooms which are an absolute delight now . the fresh new duvets , the new curtains and carpet abd even new beds ! pooja has a way also wth making the customer feel relaxed and looked after whilst remaining professional . I will be back it gets a 10/10 from me !

We needed urgent accomodfation for 2 adults and our 2 dogs, Howick Motor Lodge was very acceptable for our needs. the unit had a private paved courtyard of our room perfect for our boys. W

Decent for the price
Dated but comfortable. Pool looked unusable. Car is needed for this location but the village of Howick is very nice and the it’s easy to get to the city, the country and the beaches.

L’hôtel est bien situé : commerces à proximité, proche d’Auckland et des parcs. C’est notre 3ème séjour dans cet hôtel : déception cette fois-ci pour un séjour de 10 jours aucun ménage, pas de changement de draps, les serviettes propres ( quand ils y pensaient) étaient posées sur la table basse du salon ( les serviettes sales toujours dans la salle de bain). Le sol n’a pas été nettoyé du séjour. Je ne comprends pas une telle baisse de prestations, j’apprécierais cet hôtel au bon rapport qualité/prix, mais je vais en choisir un autre pour mon prochain séjour.

Mostly clean, very dated and noisy.
I expected the motel to be pretty average, given the price. However, the age was older than it looks in the photos, especially the stove, and bathroom. While on first inspection it appeared to be mostly clean, when you started to look closer, it had only been given a cursory clean. There was rubbish still under the beds, and it was very grimy around the stove. Added to this, we had the Police knock on our door the first night, as they'd had a 111 call they couldn't track. The second night, there was a drunk man shouting abuse and banging on cars at 4:39 am in the carpark. It felt very unsafe staying here with those 2 events. When we asked the staff about it the next day, they knew nothing, but said they would check the security cameras. No idea if they ever did. Even without this drama - it was very noisy with road traffic, and we found it very hard to sleep. The bathroom is upstairs, and the stairs are very narrow, tight and we didn't feel as if they were safe to climb up and down at night. This would not be a suitable place to stay for disabled or elderly people. The couch was so old we didn't dare sit on it. The Positives: The private courtyard was quite nice. The manager was friendly and welcoming. If you're on a budget, and not too worried about cleanliness, and you are physically able to navigate the stairs to get to the bathroom, then stay at your own risk. Just make sure you bring ear plugs and a sleeping mask.

The property is dated and on a main road so a little noisey, but it’s reflected in the price. Everything was clean and tidy and the staff was super friendly.

What did we like - leaving there? The room looked clean upon entry, but looking closer I didn’t want to touch anything. Stains on the bedcover, fabric chairs were soiled, and while showering noticed mould around the shower handle. The sliding door had a loose screw as a latch and could only be locked by the dead bolt above. Then we had guests next door that talked ALL night that we questioned whether it was a tv left on, and was easily heard from our room despite the concrete block walls. We only needed somewhere to sleep for the night in the area that has limited accommodation but I wish I had paid more to stay further away 🙁

Stay at Howick Motor Lodge 17-26 June
The motel is located perfectly on Pakuranga Road and convenient for beaches, shops Howick Historical Village, family and friends. It was quiet and the host was friendly and helpful The motel is getting a little outdated and could do with some minor Improvements to modernise it. Bed in room was large and comfortable, however the armchair a little worn out Breakfast good and adequate facilities with oven, microwave and fridge but required roll of paper towel for cleaning up purposes. Some residents did not stick to their allocated parking spot just parking where they liked.

My Home in Auckland.... property is older but great character. My 3rd stay from Australia and I will stay again. Hostess Poojah is very good.... I recommend the studio units.

My new time out place
Peaceful relaxing quite and the creature comforts I needed for a very pleasant time out Superior friendly staff. Room well maintained and clean. Everything in my room studio Actually worked properly... hehe even the TV remote!. All basic kitchen items etc. We're fairly modern with out sign of damage of wear from use. For the amazing price I paid I will certainly you be placing the motel in my top 5 time out spots. High reccomeded. U get exactly what is advertised 8.5/10 basing it on the current star rating.

Good location
Very good value for money, especially having the separate bedroom up the stairs. Nice having private outdoor space. The pool is small but good for a cooling down dip in the summer. Definitely worth visiting the Howick Colonial village down the road.

Average but functional
Needs some maintenance, needs a decent clean from top to bottom. Customer Service was good, was not worth the price per night I paid, beds were comfy, shower didnt have good pressure.

Not so good
3 families booked but on arrival motor lodge had wrong dates for one couple (we have email confirming) so had to sleep together ( not ideal) then both of us were moved next day! No milk throughout stay! Family units very dated and rough! The unit our friends went into had 3 dogs in the night before!!😫😫😫 no lawn so where we they peeing and defacating??? Never thought u cod have dogs? Lawns very long untidy and told “Just chlorinated pool (25+ degrees) so don’t swim for a day!!” So why book thinkn u will have a swim! Overall disappointed! Nice lady we dealt with in office tho!

The room was fit for purpose , it would be perfect for family with single beds on mezzanine floor, it is tired and could do with carpets and a re-paint as paint chipping, curtains look to be nearly falling off with not enough hooks, bed cover on one of upstairs beds looked to have grease stains on it but all sheets were clean, skirting boards full of dust and going upstairs railing feels sticky. It could be made lovely with pair, curtains and new quilts, our booking was stuffed up and we were told we could not have family apartment but they then sorted that for us and gave us what we had booked , reception was helpful in the end when I said I wanted refund as was going somewhere else,
