Two Star Hotels in Koh Tao

Koh Tao is popular amongst backpackers and therefore travellers will find plenty of two-star resorts on the island that cater to those on a tighter budget. All of these hotels are comfortable and located on or within minutes of a beach.

There are around 40 two-star hotels in Koh Tao, with most being found in the busy Sairee Beach area, plus a few others on other beaches on the southern half of the island. Both bungalows and rooms are available at most of these hotels, which are all independently run and owned.

Some of these hotels have beautiful gardens, sit on a cliff overlooking the sea or are located right on the beachfront, while a few sit closer to the island’s mountain interior. Many of these are bungalow type resorts with a beachfront restaurant, while others are in a standalone building with views of the sea.

All two-star hotels in Koh Tao are small, having no more than 20 rooms or bungalows. Many of them are attached to a diving school or will arrange a diving course for you. One feature of all of these hotels is that they offer free Wi-fi in public areas, with many also offering it in their rooms.

The majority of the two-star hotels in Koh Tao have a restaurant on site that serves Thai and international cuisine. There is also a very large selection of restaurants in Koh Tao, with most being in the Sairee Beach area. Seafood and fish is extremely popular on the island and can be found on barbeques along all beaches. Koh Tao also has a pretty lively nightlife, which is mainly concentrated in Sairee Beach, though there are beach bars on every beach.

When considering two-star hotels in Koh Tao it is important to think about location. If you want to be in a busy, more built-up area, then opt for a hotel in Sairee Beach. If you want a bit more peace and quiet, stay in a hotel in Leuk Bay or Tanote Bay.
